It offers seafood products; and operates Bluefin tuna and yellowtail fish farms, as well as frozen and processed food products, including canned salmon, fish sausage, nursing care, supplements, cosmetic, institutional, pet, and space food products desserts and retort pouch foods.
Its portfolio also includes meat products, such as beef, pork, chicken, and processed products, and freezing technology for a network of cold storage businesses. Additionally, it is involved in food trading and supply of shrimps and octopus. Founded in 1880 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Umios was formerly known as Maruha Nichiro Corporation before rebranding in March 2026.
