The Medical Segment offers manufactures and sells semi-solid products, such as ointments, creams, and lotions. Its portfolio also includes solid products, including tablets and powders for the generic drug market, and vitamin c preparations, gargle, and generic skin external preparation. Its Industrial Chemicals Segment provides R&D of surface treatment chemicals.
Its portfolio also includes development of new manufacturing methods, and products for PWBS, electronic devices, general platings, and semiconductors. The Social Impact Business Segment is involved in cooperative relationships with the local community, discovering local resources, and creating new businesses that lead to the resolution of social issues. Founded in 1914 and headquartered in Chuo, Japan, Astena was formerly known as Iwaki & Co., Ltd. before rebranding in June 2021.
